Human emotion works in the strangest ways -
love being the strangest in the way it stays.
Being in love is a personal feeling -
you can share it with more than one person you’re seeing.
They say that true love is only applicable to one
but what if there’re two or even none?
The feeling of love doesn’t evaporate
when the person is gone in which it used to relate,
it stays and lingers in the heart of the emoter
until someone else comes along
that meets that quota.
And then the love that remains is transferred across
to the new person from the old, whoever that was,
but that is what they refer to as a ‘rebound;’
it’s not a new feeling that’s subsequently been found,
but a new person to pass on the lingering emotion,
which is a detrimental, hindering
and preventative notion.
It means that the emoter’s developed nothing unique
therefore, the basis of the new relationship’s weak.
However,
if the emoter was to fall in love with two,
the second relationship would provide something new
and add to the schema developed originally.
But then ones’ affections may be distributed unequally,
because despite having two loves,
one might feel much stronger.
But the first might be needed
to make the second last longer.
A friend once told me something very true:
it is impossible to be happy with someone new
until you are happy and content all on your own
and feel free from attachment, to explore the unknown.
By transferring love from one to some other,
you will always be content until you meet another,
who genuinely is for you and deserves your attention.
But because you’re not free,
receives subconscious apprehension,
whereas with freedom, you could have been able to build,
yet without, the ability to share is killed.
You won’t be able to establish solid ground
if there are feelings from a previous love still around.
Which is why it is best, although it may hurt
to get over heart ache, and not to revert
to displacing affection from old flames to new,
as true love is developed from someone who
has nothing in their heart to restrict them from you.
Love thus is fresh and unique through and through.
