Dilemma

  • Have you ever known someone who is so beautiful, so smart and worth so much to you that you couldn't be with her? You couldn't be with her because you knew that you were not ready to commit to one woman for the rest of your life, and would inevitably hurt her. Perhaps also the value and respect you have for her at this period in your life is worth keeping forever, rather than losing her one day when you moved on.

The pain is knowing you can never be with that person without potentially breaking the bond shared. Keeping her hooked, waiting for you as your future, your prospective or potential ‘one’, is just detrimental and bound to cause strain or problems in other relationships that may occur in the meantime.

But then perhaps all of this could also just as viably be interpreted as your intuition telling you that she is not the right one for you; not your eternal partner, not your ‘one’ at all! Surely ‘the one’ would be the one from the very first moment?

If we were not nurtured alongside a discourse that leans us to desire or seek a 'soul mate' or 'the one'.. Would the concept of moving on at a later stage of the relationship be as hurtful or trecherous?

Can lust ever truly blind a man's intuitive feeling mechanism? Surely you would know if she was your one.

I suppose, however, It does matter how much time has elapsed; she wouldn’t be that closer friend if time and experiences together hadn’t been shared.

One day, there will be a feeling so strong, that I will know...

I will know, whole heartedly that she is she.

.... Until then, what is to do about the dilemma of the insatiable female friend?
