Apologies

All I hear is more lies to try and bring me round.
You once were queen;
that time has been
and you no longer deserve such crown.
My world starts heaving,
my love's unweaving,
you can fight but you have no ground.
And all our dreaming,
our plans, our feelings,
are now just buried beneath a mound
of deceit and scheming;
so watch me leaving.
This is the last time you'll break me down.

With salt stained cheeks,
my lips hard cracked,
all the forgive in me has dried.
Too numb to speak,
too hurt to try,
my voice lost; I stand tongue tied.
And with the bitter taste
of your disgrace,
I look through you with such disdain.
Whilst you crouch down weeping
through the rain storm falling,
all your efforts wash away in vein.
The pain keeps creeping,

but I have learnt that
when I forgive you, I see no change.
